Adding a Production: Quick Add, Standard Add & Revive

Keeping your Operabase profile up-to-date is crucial for accurately showcasing your career. Make sure to add any missing performances and review new information regularly.

There are two ways to get started, and both lead to the same place:

  • Use Add/Edit directly: on larger screens, click Add/Edit in the top bar; on smaller screens, find it through search or the menu.
  • Go via your profile: log in and click Manage Profile (or the dropdown arrow next to your email address).

Option 1: Quick Add, best for fast submission
See our Quick Guide: Adding a New Production article for the full steps.

Option 2: Add production, if it's already on Operabase

  1. Click Add a production and search for it in our system, using filters to narrow the list. Scroll through the full results before adding a duplicate.
  2. Select the production and expand it using the arrow near the date to review the details.
  3. Click Add yourself to the cast & crew. If the production is already published and verified (red masked), you will be warned that your edits need supporting proof.
  4. Click Suggest changes, then add your name to the correct role under Cast & Crew.
  5. Select the dates you performed, so the entry reflects on your repertoire, then click Submit changes.
  6. Click Provide proof, and add at least one of the four accepted proof types, then click Submit changes again to finish.

Your association with the production must be supported by proof so our team can review and approve it. The production won't appear in your schedule until the changes you submitted are approved.

Option 3: Create New, if the production isn't on Operabase

  1. Click Create New once you've confirmed the production doesn't already exist.
  2. Add a musical work by clicking Add musical work details, then add the composer and work, and indicate how it is performed. If the production has a custom title, include it in the Production custom title field.
  3. Select the producer (company, festival or other), searching by name or creating a new entity if needed.
  4. Add a website link under Tickets & sale dates, and select the performance date or dates (including any livestream date, or a full performance video for past productions).
  5. Add your name to Cast & Crew for each musical work you performed in, then add further details such as videos and photos across the other tabs.
  6. Click Publish, or save as a draft to continue editing later.

The production needs to be validated by our team before it becomes visible.

Option 4: Revive production
Use this when popular repertoire is being performed again this season, rather than for a work never performed at the company or festival before. Search within your schedule or across Operabase, expand the results to confirm the production, then select it and choose what information to copy over. Add details to the relevant sections, including the dates you are performing, then click Publish (or save as a draft).

If you have added yourself to an existing verified (red masked) production, our team will need to verify and approve your participation; you will see "Red mask validation in progress" on the production in the meantime.
