Duplicate profiles and how to get them merged

Because Operabase records performances from thousands of sources, two profiles are occasionally created for the same person — for example one from a theatre's season listing and one you created yourself. Merging combines them into a single profile with your full performance history.

How to do it

Merging is done by our team (it can't be done self-service, to protect everyone's data). Email contact@operabase.com with:

  • Links to both profiles (e.g. operabase.com/your-name-a12345);

  • Which profile you want to keep;

  • A sentence confirming both belong to you. If you manage the artist, say so and include your agency name.

What to expect

We verify that both profiles really belong to the same person — we may ask a follow-up question if the names or histories differ. After the merge, all validated performance credits, repertoire and media from both profiles are preserved on the profile you kept, and the duplicate address redirects to the confirmed profile. Nothing in your performance history is lost in a merge. Merges are currently completed within 24 - 48 working days of confirmation.

When to contact us

Any time you spot a duplicate — yours or a colleague's. Also write to us if, after a merge, a credit seems to be missing or a claim error appears ("You are trying to claim more than one profile"): tell us which profile is yours and we'll detach the rest.
