How to Search on Operabase

Operabase is a comprehensive database of performing arts productions. You can search for upcoming productions anywhere in the world, filter by genre, location, date and work, and find ticket links directly from the performance listing.

Finding upcoming performances

  1. Go to www.operabase.com and click Performances to see all upcoming performances, or go directly to operabase.com/productions.
  2. Use the search filters to narrow your results: location, dates, genre, musical works, people and organisations. Click Filters for further options. You do not need to fill in every field; start with what you know and add more filters to narrow the results.
  3. Click any production in the results to view the full cast, crew, performance dates and venue details.

What filters are available?

  • Location: country, city and venue
  • Date range: upcoming performances, a specific month or year, or the full historical archive
  • Genre: opera, operetta, musical, symphonic, concert and other performance types
  • Musical work: search by title
  • People: a specific composer or performer
  • Organisation: a particular organisation, festival, orchestra or ensemble

Searching across multiple countries

Select each country individually, then use the AND/OR operator to control the results. See our Performances & Tickets article for how to combine countries using AND/OR.
