Manage Your Operabase Professional Artist Page

Get your performances verified by Operabase and add a red mask

Simply send us the necessary information and we will verify them for you:
  1. Exact performance dates
  2. Composer + Work (only opera, operetta, zarzuela, oratorio, NO concert, recital, and ballet)
  3. Roles
  4. Location: City AND Venue/Company
  5. Necessary proof. This can be:

Link to the website of the theatre where your name appears in the cast, or
Link to a press review (with an indication of theatre, dates, work, role, and your name), or
A photocopy of a signed contract (with an indication of theatre, dates, work, role, and your name), or
Photocopy of the evening program (with an indication of theatre, dates, work, role, and your name).

 

For future performances not yet announced on the website of the theatre, just add them, and as soon as they are available on the website of the theatre, send us the links. 

 

Manage your images

Manage your profile picture and header picture

While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the top right corner of the profile picture and the header picture respectively, click on the icon that looks like a piece of paper and a pen  . In the pop up window that opens:

Add a picture, by first clicking on “select file”. Your computer’s file explorer will open. Navigate and select the picture you would like to add, then click “open”. The file explorer will close again. Next, click on “fetch”. Your picture will be uploaded. After that, scroll down to the picture and select your desired frame for the thumbnail by drawing a square with your mouse. Finish by clicking “save”.

In case of the header picture, you alternatively have the option to select a solid color instead. In order to do that, click on the drop down menu next to “I prefer a simple colored background”. Select your color and then click on “choose”. 

 

Manage other stage pictures

While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the menu underneath the header picture, hover over “Photo” and click on the icon right below it that looks like a piece of paper and a pen  . In the pop up window, you have a few options to manage your pictures:
      • Add a picture, by first clicking on “select file” at the bottom of the window. Your computer’s file explorer will open. Navigate to and select the picture you would like to add, then click “open”. The file explorer will close again. Next, click on “Fetch” or on “Envoyer le fichier”. Your picture will be uploaded and added to your album.
      • Delete a picture, by clicking on the red cross - the top one of the icons next to each picture.
      • Edit a picture’s legend, by clicking on the middle one of the icons next to each picture. After that, scroll down and add or edit the legend for the picture by entering the text into the “Add/ edit legend” field and click “save”.
      • Edit a picture’s thumbnail, by clicking on the bottom one of the three icons next to each picture. After that, scroll down to the picture and select your desired frame for the thumbnail by drawing a square with your mouse. Finish by clicking “save”.
      • You can sort the thumbnails by a simple drag & drop. When all thumbnails are where you would like them, click “save the sequence”.

 

Manage your videos

While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the menu underneath the header picture, hover over “Video” and click on the icon right below it that looks like a piece of paper and a pen. In the pop-up window, you have a few options to manage your videos:

      • Add a video, by first clicking on “Add a new video”. Copy & paste the shareable URL of the video in the field labelled “Insert the share url given by YouTube”, then write the description for the video into the field labelled “Legend of the media”. Finish by clicking “save”. (The sharable YouTube URL is not the one in the address line of the browser that has the www.youtube.com format, but you can find it by clicking on “share” underneath the video. It starts with https://youtu.be/ followed by letters and numbers)
      • Delete a video, by clicking on the red cross - one of the icons on top, next to each video.
      • Edit a video legend, by clicking on the bottom one of the icons next to each video. After that, scroll down and add or edit the legend for the video by entering the text into the “Legend of the media” field and click “save”.
      • You can sort the videos by a simple drag & drop. When all thumbnails are where you would like them, click “save the sequence”.

 

Manage your biographies

    • While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the menu underneath the header picture, hover over “Biography” and click on the icon right below it that looks like a piece of paper and a pen. In the pop up window, you have a few options to manage your biographies:
      • Click on “Update your biography”, and then on the biography, you intend to edit. Make all of your edits in the text editor that opens and click on “save”.
      • Click on “Add a biography”, and select the language of the biography you intend to add. Copy & paste your biography into the text editor and click “save”.
      • Click on “Delete a biography”, and click on the red cross next to the biography you intend to delete. 

 

Manage your performance listings

In order to add a performance to your schedule yourself, please:
  1. Hover over “Schedule”. 
  2. Click on “Plus” which now appears under “Schedule”
  3. Choose “Concert or Recital”, or enter the name of the work (type just the first few letters and choose from the list, to ensure the spelling is correct)
  4. Add the date(s): in the calendar, choose the month and the year, and click on the dates
  5. Click “Validate”.
  6. Enter the first letters of the country name (in English if you are on the English website), the auto-completion will give you the exact spelling
  7. Enter the city (again, most of the time, you can use the auto-completion)
  8. Enter the theatre name
  9. Click “Save”(written in black)
  10. Click on Singer, Conductor...
  11. Enter the name of the role (your voice type for concerts and recitals, the role name for operas). Use auto completion if possible (we have roles in the original language or in English, depending on the work)
  12. Enter the name of the Conductor (if known on Operabase, the name will appear in auto-completion)
  13. Enter the name of the Producer (if known on Operabase, the name will appear in auto-completion)
  14. Click “SAVE

In order to hide a production, simply click on the little eye-symbol with the little red cross next to the performance listing.

  • Add the next five roles that you would like to sing
  • While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the menu underneath the header picture, hover over “Repertoire” and click on the icon right below it that looks like a circle with a plus sign . In the window that opens, you can add up to five roles that you are desiring to sing. When casting professionals search for these roles, your name will appear as a match. In order to add a new desired role, fill out the three fields “composer”, “opera” and “role” using auto completion. If you are not a singer, but part of the production team, select your function from the list on the right hand side. After this, simply click “save” and the piece is added to your repertoire as a future desired role or engagement.
  • Delete one of your desired future roles
    • While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the menu underneath the header picture, hover over “Repertoire” and click on the icon right below it that looks like a circle with a plus sign . In the window that opens, you can see up to five roles that you had added as those you are desiring to sing. In order to delete one of the five possible future desired roles, simply click on the trash bin symbol on the right of the listed role.

 

Hide roles you do not want to be shown on your profile

In order to hide a particular role in your profile, navigate to your Operabase Professional Artist profile and click on “Repertoire”. Next to each role, there is a little eye-symbol with a red cross. Click on it and the role will not be publicly displayed anymore.

 

Share your reviews 

    • While logged into your account, navigate to your artist profile. In the menu underneath the header picture, hover over “Reviews” and click on the icon right below it that looks like a piece of paper and a pen  . In the pop up window, you have a few options to manage your reviews:
      • In order to add a review, click on the orange button “Add a review”. In the orange box that opens underneath the button, fill out all the empty fields and then click “validate”
      • In order to edit an existing review, click on the icon directly next to the review  that looks like a piece of paper and a pen . In the box at the bottom, make your desired changes and then click “validate”
      • In order to delete a review, simply click on the red x directly next to it.

 

Manage your and your manager’s contact details

    • In your profile, click on the icon underneath the profile menu item “contact”. On the page that pops up, you can add your email-address and phone number. You also have the option to hide your email address and/ or phone number from public view.
    • In order to add an agent to your profile, please ask your agent to add you or send us an email at contact@operabase.com and put your agent in cc. In this email, please provide us with the name of your agency and the details of your representation agreement with your agent (e.g. General management, exclusive/ non-exclusive, world-wide or only in specific countries, for opera and/ or concert).
Add a link of your personal website
    • In your profile, click on the icon underneath the profile menu item “contact”. On the page that pops up, you can add your personal and other websites.
