Production Details, Media & Tickets
This is where you can manage every production in your season — its production information, media, and tickets. What you enter here is what displays to audiences on Operabase, and it also populates the profiles of the artists linked to the production. All your organisation's productions are listed under Seasons, where you can add new ones or edit existing entries.
Production information
Include details about the musical work in this section.
- Production Custom Title: Use this if the production includes more than one musical work. It's mandatory for double/triple bills, adaptations, concerts, recitals, and galas, where the production title differs from the musical work's title.
- Add the production genre and staging type
- Programme information: Add all musical works that are part of the programme. Use the "Programme not / partially announced" checkbox when the programme isn't fully announced yet — useful for concerts, galas, and recitals.
- Produced By: Indicate the organisation responsible for the production. For a co-production, add the other names in the co-production section.
- New Production Indicator: Selecting this checkbox highlights the production as new and attaches a "New production" tag across the platform.
- Language & Surtitles: Adding the performance language and available surtitles helps audiences know if they'll understand the performance, and helps casting professionals see which languages an artist has experience performing in.
Production Poster & Trailer
A poster and trailer boost engagement and let audiences explore more content on the production. Posters are required to announce any associated livestreams and VOD. Trailers display on production pages and are featured in the production videos of every cast member who chooses to show them, adding further visibility across Operabase.
Tickets & Sale Dates
This is useful for audiences looking to buy tickets for the upcoming season. You can only add one generic box office link per production, not one per performance date — this link redirects users to the box office, where they select dates, times, and seats.
Dates & Times of Performances, Livestreams, and VOD
Add dates and times for physical performances, livestreams, and full performance video/VOD.
- Physical performances: Select the month and year on the calendar and click each day of the performance (you can add multiple performances on the same day afterwards). Then select the country, city, and venue from the listing. If a venue isn't listed, double-check you've selected the right city and country — if it's still missing, create a new venue and add as much detail as possible so we can verify it. Correct country, city, and venue information is what lets a production appear on Operabase's performance listings and venue/map pages.
- Livestreams: Select the month, year, and each day of the stream. A livestream needs a primary poster, a website link to where it can be watched, and the time and timezone before it can appear in the Video section.
- Full performance video / VOD: Use this for a production that's available on demand. Click "Add full performance video" and fill in as much information as possible.
A production can have both livestream and physical dates, but you'll need to specify the cast for every date you select.
- To add time and other details to a date: Click Edit on the date (there are separate tabs for physical, livestream, and VOD). Add the time (24-hour format) and the performance type (world premiere, national premiere, tour). If this date needs a different venue than the one already set, choose it from the options or add a new one. Use "Hosted by" only when another company is hosting the performance and is not a co-producer. Use "Apply this same info for other selected dates" to copy these details across several dates at once.
- To add another performance time on the same date: Add one time, then click "Add time" and fill in the same details for the additional performance.
- To delete a date: Click the date on the calendar, or click the three dots next to it below and select "Delete performance."
- To mark a date as cancelled: Click the date on the calendar, or click the three dots next to it and select "Mark as cancelled." The production must be published before a date can be cancelled — this option won't appear while it's still in drafts.
- To mark a performance as sold out: Use the "Mark as sold out" slider.
